Rabbi David Glickman
Rabbi David M.Glickman hails from Lansing, Michigan where he grew up attending Congregation Kehillat Israel. Rabbi Glickman holds a B.A. from University of Michigan, having also spent one year at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Rabbi Glickman received rabbinic ordination and his M.H.L. from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City. One year of his rabbinic studies was at the Conservative Movement's seminary in Jerusalem, The Schechter Institute for Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. Rabbi Glickman shares pulpit and lifecycle duties with Rabbi Gershon. He has been working extensively with Congregation Shearith Israel's Young Professionals' program. Rabbi Glickman teaches at the Ann & Nate Levine Academy of Dallas, and is a rabbinic presence in CSI's religious school. Rabbi Glickman teaches in our adult education programs, ran the Learners' Service during 2001-2002, and has started an engaging Friday morning Talmud class, "Dive Into Talmud." While a rabbinical student, Rabbi Glickman spent three years working with Camp Ramah Darom in Georgia as the Program Director. He also taught at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin for three summers. In the summer of 2000, Rabbi Glickman served as a hospital chaplain at Seattle's Harborview Medical Center. Last year, Rabbi Glickman served as the student rabbi for Congregation Beth Israel in Biloxi, Mississippi. Also, he was the rabbinic intern for Makor: The Partnership for Jewish Life, a center for culture for Jews in their 20s and 30s on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Rabbi Glickman's wife, Annie, is a Jewish educator originally from Tacoma, Washington. They have one son, Gavriel Melech Glickman and one daughter, Eliora Yaakova Glickman. |
