Congregation Shearith Israel is excited to make an email listserv available to all members. The listserv will allow you to stay in touch with other CSI members on topics that are of interest to you. The first two listservs that will be made available are (1) Torah Study Listserv and (2) B'nai Mitzvah listserv. More will be added in the coming months.

A listserv is simply an email list of people who are interested in subscribing to particular topics. The listserv allows you to communicate with other members quickly and easily without having to remember who belongs. All members receive all correspondence. Participating in the listserv is as easy as sending an email. You may also elect to receive all emails sent for a particular day in a digest format rather than individually as they are sent.

Torah Study Listserv

One of the rabbis will begin the discussion each week with a discussion of the Torah portion for the coming week. Members of the listserv will be able to respond with their thoughts and ideas. If you attend the weekly Torah study on Shabbat morning, then you should be well prepared. If you are unable to attend, then you will be able to participate and become active in the online email discussion.

B'nai Mitzvah Listserv

This list will be a resource for all the families planning and studying for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Members will be able to pose questions to other members about studying techniques that have worked, ideas for mitzvah projects, opinions on photographers, how to best prepare your speech, thoughts on DJs, Kiddush lunch menus and any of the 100 things that come up during this eighteen month period of preparation.
