Vogel Alcove
Make a difference in the Dallas community. Volunteers are needed for babysitting at the Vogel Alcove, a day care center for homeless children, on the third Wednesday of the month.

Stew Pot
Make a difference in the Dallas community. New volunteers are needed for Stew Pot (serving meals to the hungry) on the third Thursday of the month.

Sandwich Drive
Help relieve hunger in Dallas by sending sandwiches to the various shelters in downtown Dallas. Twice per year, volunteers make sandwiches to be sorted and delivered to the Shelter.

Food Drives
At Passover and the High Holidays we will be collecting food to donate on behalf of Mazon-a Jewish response to hunger. Individuals are needed during Passover, to deliver to Jewish Family Services any food that is donated. During the High Holidays, individuals will be needed to prepare grocery bags to be handed out on Erev Rosh Hashanah and to assist in the delivery after Yom Kippur.

Family Gateway

Family Gateway Center houses as many as 30 families at a given time. The Center is for families with children (the fastest growing population of the homeless) in Dallas who need assistance. The First Sunday of every month, Shearith Israel hosts dinner at the shelter. Volunteers are needed to donate food and meet at the shelter to prepare and serve the meal from 4pm to 7pm. This is a wonderful Bnei Mtizvah project. Chavarah groups may also sponsor one of the monthly dinners.
