Jewish Life & Practice

Beyond Dispute: Debates That Shape Jewish Life
Select Wednesday Evenings
New class! Rabbi Ari Sunshine leads an exploration of the philosophical, spiritual, ethical, and cultural disputes that are at the heart of Judaism and Jewish life. Are religion and reason compatible? Can Jewish law change based on context? How do we teach and talk about the Holocaust and the State of Israel? Should we prioritize Jewish or universal causes in our giving? Is our relationship with God defined by human obligation or divine compassion? Go beyond conflicts to uncover essential questions and build a more inclusive view of the Jewish past, present, and future. Ongoing. RSVP to Theresa at thurt@shearith.org
Adult B'nei mitzvah Program
New class begins November 3, 2019
Missed out on a Bar or Bat Mitzvah ceremony when you were younger? Did you choose Judaism later in life? Want to update your shul skills and knowledge to the level your child will learn for his/her Bar/Bat Mitzvah?
