Ongoing Initiatives

There are so many ways to get involved and make a difference at Shearith!

Volunteer opportunities include joining a committee, helping with Apples & Honey and Mishloach Manot, welcoming new members by delivering Shabbat welcome bags, baking hamantaschen, preparing desserts for special events, ushering, greeting at events, taking photos at programs and celebrations, helping with assembly days, and lending a hand with other congregational programs and initiatives.

Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back, meet new people, strengthen friendships, and help make our Shearith community feel like home. We are always eager to welcome fresh ideas and new volunteers to support our work.

Shearith Cares

Volunteers are needed to visit congregants in the hospital and offer companionship and support.

The Ladder Project

An ambitious and innovative initiative addressing homelessness in our city and fulfilling the sacred mitzvah of saving a life.

Shul Drivers

If you need a ride to services or a program – or are willing to provide one – we would love to connect you.

Homeless & Hunger Relief

Hunger in our community is unacceptable. Through food drives and hands-on initiatives, we work to provide meaningful assistance to those in need.

Social Action Committee

From Good Deeds Day to Galentine’s Day, from our Sandwich Drive to our High Holy Day Food Drive, there are countless ways to get involved. Volunteers and committee members are always welcome.

Kesher

Kesher is dedicated to creating a fully inclusive environment for individuals of all abilities and needs. Volunteers are needed throughout the year, and it’s a wonderful opportunity for students to earn community service hours.
