The entire Dallas community is invited
In the spirit of thanks and gratitude, synagogues, churches, mosques and religious organizations across Dallas will come together to share faith and inspiration. This community-wide service is hosted by Congregation Shearith Israel, Dallas Masjid Al-Islam, Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks-Giving Square, First United Methodist Church, Interfaith Council, Islamic Association of North Texas, Jewish Community Relations Council, Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, St. Rita Catholic Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Thanks-Giving Foundation and University Park United Methodist Church.
The service will include music and brief spiritual reflections from a variety of faith backgrounds. Rabbi Ari Sunshine, the Senior Rabbi of host congregation Shearith Israel, will deliver a sermon.
To share the abundance of the season with those who are less fortunate, everyone is asked to bring non-perishable food items for the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). Monetary donations will also be accepted. Trisha Cunningham, President and CEO of the NTFB, will tell the story of this Dallas nonprofit hunger relief organization that works to support the nutritional needs of children, families and seniors through education, advocacy and strategic partnerships.
After the service all are welcome to share fellowship time and a dessert reception.
