B’ruchim HaBa’im – Welcome!

Shalom! Welcome to the Weitzman Family Religious School (WFRS), where we inspire a lifelong love of Judaism in a warm, joyful, and inclusive community. Our goal is to help every student build a meaningful connection to their Jewish identity while creating lasting friendships and memories along the way.

Students explore Jewish values, holidays, prayers, Israel, history, traditions, and culture through engaging, hands-on learning that connects Jewish life to the world around them. We encourage curiosity, celebrate questions, and help students discover how Judaism can enrich their everyday lives.

Hebrew learning is an important part of our curriculum. We place a strong emphasis on building a solid foundation in Hebrew reading, helping students grow into confident readers through personalized instruction and the support of dedicated one-on-one Hebrew tutors. With consistent attendance and encouragement, students take pride in their progress and accomplishments.

At WFRS, every child belongs. Our rabbis, teachers, and staff are committed to building meaningful relationships with each student and fostering a caring environment where friendships flourish. We proudly welcome students of all abilities and are grateful to provide the support and resources needed to help every learner thrive.

We would love to welcome your family to our WFRS community! If you have questions or would like to learn more, please contact our Director of Education, Morah Sarah Lipinsky, at .

Mission Statement

The Weitzman Family Religious School serves the Jewish educational needs of Congregation Shearith Israel’s children from Pre-K through High School. Our mission is to nurture engaged Jewish souls within a warm, caring community where every student feels seen, valued, and inspired.

Through dynamic, hands-on learning and meaningful relationships, students develop a strong Jewish identity while exploring our traditions, values, history, Hebrew, and sacred texts. We empower each child to embrace Jewish life with curiosity, confidence, and compassion, fostering a lifelong connection to Judaism and the community.

Statement of Culture

At the Weitzman Family Religious School, we believe that joyful Jewish learning begins with a sense of belonging. We strive to create an environment where students develop a lifelong love of Judaism and build meaningful connections to Jewish practice, history, traditions, and sacred moments.

Through intentional teaching and authentic relationships, we cultivate a community where students, teachers, rabbis, and families learn and grow together. From the moment students walk through our doors, they are welcomed with warmth, encouragement, and care. Every child is known, celebrated, and supported as an essential part of our sacred community, where they are empowered to grow, lead, and thrive.
