Social Action - Tikkun Olam
Help us Repair the World!
Social Action Committee:
Help perform the mitzvah of Tikkun Olam. This year we will collect food for the JFS food pantry; host a book drive and build, decorate and install a Little Free Library in an underserved area of West Dallas; make and deliver sandwiches to the hungry; celebrate our 2nd annual Galentines Day and more. But we need you! Please text co-chair, Debra Weinberger at 713-899-6040 or Mindy Fagin at 214-766-7656.
Hospital visits / bikur cholim
Your warm smile and best wishes for a refuah shelayma, a complete and speedy recovery, to fellow congregants who are in the hospital is a tremendous comfort and a big mitzvah! Your friendly visit, even if it's short, helps supplement visits from our clergy.
If you, a loved one or friend is in the hospital and would like visitors, please let us know. Contact Theresa Hurt at firstname.lastname@example.org or 214-939-7314.
Privacy laws prevent the hospital from providing information to us.
Comforting the bereaved/nehum Avelim
The support of a strong community is most needed at the hardest time in people’s lives. Each time a member of our shul is sitting shiva, the Shiva Minyan Mitzvah Corps will attend an evening minyan, and bring a plate of desserts.
Please contact Avi Mitzner at email@example.com for more information.
Congregants with temporary medical issues: such as returning home from the hospital, undergoing intensive medical treatments, or experiencing family hardships receive meals provided by fellow congregants. Let's get cookin'.

Homeless and hunger relief
Hunger in our community is simply unacceptable. We host canned food drives and deliver real help to the less fortunate among us.
Kesher works to create an inclusive environment for people of all needs. Volunteers needed for events throughout the year. Great way for students to earn community service hours!
