We have many virtual ways to communicate, including Facebook Live, ZOOM video conferencing, and Livestream.
Zoom Video Conferencing:
Zoom is experiencing issues with unwelcome attendees accessing Zoom meetings and harassing participants. Because of this, we will increase our security by adding passwords for meetings. Below each event we'll tell you how to obtain the password. We apologize for this inconvenience but feel it is in everyone's best interest. To access Zoom, you can use a phone, smartphone, computer, or an iPad/tablet. If your device has a camera, you can be seen by the leader and other participants, but you can join even if you do not have a camera. Or you can call in via your phone If you use a smartphone or tablet, download the ZOOM app at the app store. If you want to participate using a computer, go to www.zoom.com and create an account. Prior to class we will send out a passowrd, unique meeting ID, and a unique phone number just for that class. Classes that meet regularly will have the same meeting ID and phone number each session. If you log in early, you may see a message that says “please wait for the host to start this meeting.” Once the meeting starts, you will have the option to join by video or audio. ZOOM HELP To join a meeting on your computer, here's a helpful video is.gd/zoomshearith To join a meeting on your smartphone, here's a helpful video is.gd/zoomshearithsmartphone Virtual Minyan will happen both via ZOOM and Facebook Live every Sunday through Friday night at 6 pm. Because Jewish Law has always allowed for flexibility in extraordinary circumstances, or what the sages called “sha’at ha-d’chak” we will count ZOOM attendees to make our minyan so that we can say The Mourners' Kaddish. To “count” in the minyan and say kaddish, go to zoom.us/j/882229466 OR, watch the minyan on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/Shearith/ We will offer many adult education classes and participatory events via ZOOM, as well. |
Facebook Live:
www.facebook.com/Shearith Every Friday night Let's Go Live from Shearith Israel brings you a Kabbalat Shabbat service led by a member of our Klei Kodesh. (You can also participate as part of the minyan through ZOOM. See above) Throughout the week, the Klei Kodesh, staff, and lay leaders will offer virtual sing-a-longs, story time, stretching class, cooking segments, and much more. Find out about all these great virtual events on our calendar at www.shearith.org/lets-go-live or watch Facebook for announcements. |
Livestream:

As our Shearith community, and our broader communities; Dallas, the U.S., and our world, face the challenge of this pandemic, let's come together for support and solace, for friendship and fun, for prayer and positivity. We at Shearith are here for you. We're just the touch of a button away.
