High Holy Days Choir
Conducted by Judy Kline, in conjunction with Hazzan Zhrebker, the High Holy Days Choir is an integral part of the music program at Congregation Shearith Israel. The choir performs during the High Holidays and Yiskor services. This choir is composed of mostly professional singers along with singers from our own congregation. To become a member of the High Holy Days Choir, a trained voice and good music reading skills are necessary. Please contact Hazzan Itzhak Zhrebker at [email protected].

Rehearsals are normally on Mondays from 7:30 until 9:30 pm. If you are interested in joining the camaraderie and becoming part of Kol Neshamah, please contact Hazzan Zhrebker. Kol Neshamah Members rave about their experiences in the choir: "I joined because I’ve always loved to sing. I even took voice lessons for many years. Kol Neshamah gives me the opportunity to be among others who share that passion. Adding some ruach to Shabbat services is a huge bonus.” – Carolyn Marcus Abrams “I love singing the prayers each week at services. Singing with the choir gives me a chance to improve the quality of my singing while doing something I love to do.” – Carole Ann Hoppenstein “I enjoy singing as a pleasant alternative way to connect with the shul and the service.” – Maribeth Lipscomb “I joined Kol Neshamah to find a voice for my neshamah.” – Ilana Pomeranz |
