Torah Fund 2022 Campaign honoring Rabbi Shira Wallach
Shearith Israel SISterhood is proud to honor Rabbi Wallach for her contributions to Congregation Shearith Israel and to the greater Dallas Jewish community. She will be the honoree at our Torah Fund family friendly event raising funds for the Jewish Theological Seminaries around the world. She is an inspiration to all whose lives she touches with her love of Torah, infectious enthusiasm, and boundless energy.
Rabbi Shira Wallach was born in Tampa, Florida, into a home that valued and celebrated Jewish life and learning. Her parents instilled in her a deep love for her history, people, and traditions, as well as an eye toward creativity and innovation.
She received rabbinic ordination and a Master’s degree in sacred music from the Jewish Theological Seminary in May 2013 after earning undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Bible from Barnard College and JTS’s List College, respectively. For her graduate work, Rabbi Wallach was awarded the Ismar Elbogen Prize in Talmud and the Morris Silverman Prize in Liturgy.
At Shearith Israel, Rabbi Wallach focuses on growing the young family community through the Shababa Approach (created by Karina Zilberman), which emphasizes accessibility, connection, and celebration. She also creates new portals to prayer for all ages, is a powerful pulpit presence and teacher of Torah, trains and empowers new leaders, and shepherds families through moments of sorrow and joy.
Rabbi Wallach is married to Rabbi Adam Roffman and they are proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Hannah and Rebecca, and a Goldendoodle named George. She loves singing, dancing, playing guitar, and the Great British Bake-Off.

Torah Fund Pin Theme

Every woman has the opportunity to participate in preserving, promoting and perpetuating Conservative Judaism through active giving to the Torah Fund.
The Torah Fund theme for 2021–2022 is B’Yachad, which means ‘Together’. This theme signifies the joy of SISterhood members working together year-round to make important contributions to the Jewish community through their volunteer efforts at synagogues across the United States and Canada. Our pride in being Jewish shows in everything we do. We are high achievers in our professional and personal lives, and we accomplish even more together! Each of us is one small nugget of gold, but together our small gifts reflect and refract the light inside us and help each other shine.
Together, since 1942, the modest contributions of thousands of individuals to this grassroots fundraising effort called Torah Fund have helped to educate and train each generation of rabbis, cantors, scholars, educators, summer camp directors, chaplains, campus Jewish life staff, and committed lay leaders. These are the people who guide and teach, console and uplift our people, one soul at a time, whether in person or remotely, during these challenging times. We make this happen together. Join us!
