ShalomLearning WFRS will continue using ShalomLearning for our Judaics curriculum for grades K-7 for the 2024-2025 school year. ShalomLearning partners with synagogues all over the world to provide a fresh approach to Jewish education by using technology, short videos, music, texts, and online activities to make curriculum and materials relevant to the students. ShalomLearning’s interactive, Jewish values-based curriculum helps children develop a positive Jewish identity. The curriculum is based on seven Jewish values we all share, like Gevurah “Using your inner strength to do what’s right,” and Teshuvah “Taking responsibilities for your actions.” By relating stories from the Torah and Jewish history to events happening in our kids’ lives, ShalomLearning helps each student explore his or her personal connection to our heritage. Center for Israel Education Our Israel Enrichment program is designed by the Center for Israel Education which promotes the ongoing concept that Israel is an integral and essential part of modern Jewish history and provides students, educators, and life-long learners with materials and trustworthy sources to engage with others about modern Israel. This curriculum effectively engages our students in 3rd-6th grade in conversations and activities about Israel enabling them to develop a connection to the people, the land, its history and its future.
Hebrew In the primary grades, the focus will be on learning Hebrew letters, the sound that each letter makes, and printing them. The 3rd grade year will be a transitional year as students start forming words and begin learning prayers. Students in 4th – 6th grades will focus on learning various prayers in the Shabbat evening and morning services.

Through educational, spiritual and community programs, WFRS helps students increase their Judaic knowledge and strengthen their connection both to Shearith Israel and Am Yisrael. Our school is a place in which teens can continue to foster a positive Jewish identity, and develop a personal relationship with God and a lifelong commitment to Jewish learning, Israel and the Jewish people.
