Jewish Family Service of Dallas is Ready to Assist
From JFS: At Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas, one thing is for sure -- our door is open and we are here to help. We have set up a dedicated page on our website and our Intake Team is ready to support you in your hour of need. Even if you are still unsure of what's next, we are an ear to listen, a place to gather resources and the latest on the news around the aftermath of the Dallas tornado.
For our incredible volunteers, the JFS Community Engagement team has compiled a list of how we can utilize your support. This week, we need help making welfare calls to our community, running our food pantry, and delivering Kosher Home Delivered Meals. Click here for information on how you can help and to sign up. Thanks to our congregants who came together on Friday, October 25, and assembled baskets for our Shearith families whose homes were either damaged or destroyed in the devastating recent tornadoes.
To all our congregants, if your home was damaged or destroyed and you have not been in contact with us, PLEASE let us know! Contact Theresa at [email protected] or call 214-939-7314. |
As we concluded our reading of Deuteronomy during Simchat Torah services, we all recited the words “Hazak Hazak, V’Nithazek”—“be strong, be strong, and together we shall be strengthened”. Those words ring particularly true this week as we move forward from the darkness of destruction to the light of renewal. Thanks to each of you for being a part of this healing and rebuilding process.
