Thank you to Dr. Rowan Buskin who donated his dental services to David to give him a set of beautiful dentures this past week. We are truly grateful to Dr. Buskin for both his heart and his expertise.
A big thank you to Larry Krasner, a member of The Ladder Project’s Executive Committee, who really took it to heart that David used to play guitar as a young man. At Larry’s request, a friend, Daniel Cruz, made a donation of a beautiful, acoustic guitar. Larry and his wife Leslie brought dinner to David’s apartment recently and, as a surprise, presented the guitar to David. David’s been busy strumming ever since.
Another milestone on Oct. 11 for David was opening his first bank account since the 1990s. Bank of America in Preston Center created a checking account for David with no monthly fees, as long as his employer makes direct deposits of his income into the account. David did order 42 checks for $12.00. The first check he will write, for $400, will go toward his $705 November rent at his new apartment. The Ladder Project will pay the $305 difference, but David intends to pay an even larger portion of his rent next month. Great job David! We are all proud of you.
