by Rabbi Shira Wallach This past Shabbat, we welcomed our new class of Tiny Treasures—babies born in the year 2018—and their families into the warm and loving embrace of the Shearith Israel family. If you were there, thank you for helping us create such a wonderful space in which to share in the simcha of new life. But enough from me, I’ll let the cuteness speak for itself. Click HERE to see the online version of our Tiny Treasures Keepsake Booklet, assembled, designed, and edited by our incredible team Julie Carpenter, Aaron Manns, and Sarah Katz. If you love what you see, drop them a note to say thanks! And just as important: when you see a family with young children at Shearith, make sure to welcome them. New parents (including me!) always wonder if bringing young children into our sanctuary is a good idea. You never know what will happen! But if we remember to help these children and their parents feel at home, we can only elevate the holiness of our sacred space. On Shabbat, I saw the potential that lies within our kehilla kedosha, our holy community, in our profound ability to welcome and honor each and every soul who passes over our doorstep. Shabbat shalom, Rabbi Wallach
